Games Day North America Forgotten and Lost?

Games Day North America. Never really got to know you, but it looks like you may be gone. There has been no promotions for selling tickets yet, no Armies on Parade 2014. Not a whole lot being said about it yet.

"Revised 6th" is the New Term: More Information on the New Rulebook Release

There are a lot of small bits coming out on the new 6.5 or Revised Edition for 6th rulebook. I have collated a few of them here, with the help of Zion from Tabletop Wargaming.

New Starter Set or Something Else

Yesterday we had some information regarding a black box release that showed Eldar vs Astra Militarum. Since it is quite obvious that 7th edition really is here, it was easily presumed that the black box would be a starter set for the new edition. Is that really what its going to be?

7th Edition Information: There is No Time For Peace

Above is the poster that is coming in the next White Dwarf and that are already being shown at GW store locations. The picture above was revealed on facebook for the Liverpool GW Store. Not only that but we are now getting some reports on the contents of the book from more than one person.

The Growing Scene of Lord of the Rings

There is a growing Australian scene for the game, Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit. There has been tournaments going on in various cities and a larger event that can hold up to 44 people in Sydney coming up in June. Ive been asked to mention it, to help players interested find the event.

GW Ordering Changes for Items Out of Stock

When ordering models from Games Workshop, it used to be that you got placed on backorder when items were out of stock, however, now this is practice is discontinued. Now the best way to get a model that is out of stock, is simply to go onto the webstore and click the "email me" button. I have done this myself recently when trying to desperately to get Techpriests, as every time I checked the site seemed to be out of stock.

Confirmations of 7th Edition

Yesterday morning we were all a buzz about a 7th edition release, and the new store posters that give us a date of May 24th. There is also a poster in the upcoming White Dwarf as well with the Commissar and the date listed. Well, when comment sections get too large, less and less people are willing to read through them. So I picked these out of our comment section, and grabbed a quick image off the US GW site showing the rulebook as No Longer Available. More confirmations that something big is happening.

7th Edition Release: Astra Militarum vs Eldar

Yesterday was a plethora of new information and rumors regarding 7th edition. To top all of it off, we are looking at what might be a new starter set of some sort. There was some communication gaps, as the sources first language is not English, but it looks like a black box listing or product has shown up with Astra Militarum vs Eldar.

 There was a question and answer session in German from someone that claims to have the Wood Elf armybook already. While its hard to tell if there is any credibility to it, we will just report on what is being said without stat lines or points.

Clearing Retail Space for 7th Edition and New Core Troops

A large 7 page list of items are being taken off the floors of many GW shops and sent back. While this happens a lot as retail space is very important and valuable for new products, its not normally at this scale. So in addition to the 6th edition rulebooks a lot more is being sent back to prepare for what is on the horizon. 7th Edition and Beyond.

Down to the Final Week: The Panic Sets In

Last year I think I was much better prepared for Valhalla, and now with 7 days and a few hours til I board head to the airport panic is setting in. As Valhalla is a 6 day event, I tend to take a lot of models with me so that I can vary my lists up. Presence of Faeit: An Outdated Gaming System

There are many games on the market today for our community, and some great rules writers out there that have either written for GW in the past, or grew up with their games. Great examples of rules out there include Malifaux, Infinity, Dark Age, Dropzone Commander, Helldorado, Deadzone and much more. I try and cover the games that I have access to, and get a chance to play on occasion. Warhammer though, has began to feel outdated.

Hell Dorado: Go To Hell

Helldorado has been on gaming table quite a bit over the last few weeks. Its a skirmish game, and one that I enjoyed playing when I was getting demo's shown to me several times by Justin (of Cipher Studios). It was one thing to play the game with someone that was able to lead the game, but to actually sit down and read the rules and get some games in, I found myself really enjoying the game more and more.

Militarum Tempestus Temporarily Out of Stock

There was a lot of confusion going on about the Militarum Tempestus, which I really like as an army. The problem was that the new mini-dex was listed as "no longer available", instead of "Temporarily Out of Stock". Well that has been changed or fixed, and now it seems that those of you concerned that the book will no longer be available will not have to worry about getting your book.

Wood Elf Pre-Orders are Live

Up for Pre-Orders now is the Wood Elf release, armybook, limited edition armybook, a Treeman kit that can be made into Durthu or Ancient Treeman, Araloth, Wardancer Troope, and Shadowdancer.  All of these are available now for pre-order for a release date of May 3rd.

Forgeworld Pre-Orders: HH Book 3, Krios Battle Tank, Tech-Thralls, and Contemptor Chainfists

Forgeworld has a series of releases going live for pre-orders today. The Mechanicum Krios Battle Tank, Tech-thralls with Mitra-Locks, and finally Contemptor Chainfists. A strong release alongside their Horus Heresy Book 3: Extermination which is also up for pre-orders now.

Wood Elf Rules (Rumored)

Wood Elves will be available later today for pre-release and with that we are looking at some of the rules that are rumored to be there. There are re-rolls of ones for archers, Dryads having a 6+ Ward save and more.

New Mini Game by Games Workshop Coming

This weekends White Dwarf alludes to a new mini game that will be coming next week. I have not seen this yet, but I am sure as the White Dwarf becomes more available tomorrow we will be hearing something on it.

Wyrdvane Psykers and a Late Night Discussion

I have been trying to get a few more games with the Astra Militarum, and one unit that has come into question is the Wyrdvane Psykers. Personally I had found so little use for them in the game, that I wondered why they were included in the codex. A friend of mine had different ideas though, that they were so overly powerful that they were an auto-take in a lot of lists.

New Dark Age, Core and Fire Caste

Dark Age is one of my favorite skirmish games, for its models, and fun of play. One of the factions, the CORE, has a new release today with the Recovery Bot, and the new Fire Caste gets 3 new models. 

Dropzone Scenery Packs Available Now for Pre-Orders

OK, I just have to get these as they come out. The Aegis Orbital Defence Laser Scenary Pack creates a fun set of new missions to play as these were prevalent on the Cradle Worlds. To top it off, the Monorail scenery pack I saw last year at Valhalla is also on up for pre-order and going to be available here in a week!

Chimera Rules Not Getting Updated

For better or for worse, with the new Astra Militarum codex under our belts, we  have an answer on the current rules for Chimera's being updated for other armies with access to them. The answer for the moment, is not yet, and nothing is in the works. And here I was thinking we might see an faq answer, or something easy.
