Deadzone Asterians and Much More

Deadzone is a game that I have only had a small chance to test the game out. I absolutely loved the game, and the upcoming releases for the game are looking fantastic. Here are a few of the latest released pics for Deadzone.

Dwarven Models Missing

With a Dwarven release coming here soon, we are all still trying to figure out if and when there will be a army book release later this month with possibility of even more models. In that regard, it appears several models are now missing from the Dwarven army on the GW site.

Dropzone Commander Release Day!

Its January 31st and the first 2014 Dropzone Commander models are out. These include new models for three of the four factions, Shaltari, UCM, and the PHR.

Full details and information on the schedule and events can be found at http://novaopen.com

Here's a quick-hitter on some highlights for this year ...

Chapter Specific Sprue Details

Earlier we were talking about the rumored release of chapter specific sprues without much detail, and with a little further notice, we have some details that would make a release like this rather fantastic. These look like full on chapter release box kits for your marines, and something that I would love to see.

Chaos Marines would be coming as well.

Space Marine Chapters: New Sprues

According to the latest rumor bits, Space Marine Chapters will be getting their own unique sprues with lots of unique features. This would be nice, with helmets, shoulder pads and other unique bits for each chapter to help give that unique look to your models.

Catachans will be Moved to Mail Order Only

A response to the latest rumors of Catachans not going anywhere hit my inbox yesterday, saying that while Catachans are not going the way of the dinosaur, they will be moved to mail order only.

Faeit 212 BlogExchange: Blogs From Around the World

Its that time again, to take a look at the latest additions to the Faeit 212 BlogExchange to discover some new sites, ideas, and projects that you may have not yet had a chance to see before.

Forgeworld's Command Sets and Legion Medusa

Forgeworld releases today are excellent, and one of their top release in my books for a little while. New on the release list, are two Command Sets, and the Legion Medusa. Especially with an Imperial Guard codex right around the corner, a Medusa Model like this one, really catches my eye. Of course we had seen this previously when the Forgeworld let loose the pics, but now finally its here.

The Word is Out on Warhammer Visions and the new White Dwarf

The magazines are out now, and people are getting their first magazines. There is a huge difference between Warhammer Visions and White Dwarf weekly when taking a look at the first editions of the magazines.

The Last Models for Epic Suddenly Gone

This morning I was told that models are now gone on the Australian site, and when I checked, neither the US site or the UK site had any to speak of.

2014 Release Schedule

The schedule for 2014 is taking shape as January comes to a close, and it looks like a lot of the rumors have toned it down some, and adjusted. In this rumored bit, Space Wolves, have been replaced by Blood Angels which has been rumored here on Faeit 212 for several months now.

Belegar Ironhammer is Leaked

The new White Dwarf that comes out in a couple days will have the rules in it for a new Dwarven Lord, and yes, we have the inside information on him to take a closer look at tonight.

The Astra Militarum: The New IG to Contain Catachans and Cadians.

Imperial Guard time, and its slight name correction as well as saying that Cadians and Catachans will be released for the new codex. This would be good news, and if there is new Catachans coming, I would love to see the new models, as I find the old ones rather dated.

Chaos Space Marines: A Look Ahead

There have beena lot of rumors about Chaos Marines coming in the very near future, as well as a later release down the road. While most of the information came from a single source here on Faeit 212, it was very detailed, and later other rumor sites started to pick up on the information.

Ork Boyz Getting Cheaper

Rumors have Orks coming soon, possibly as soon as this June, and while I am not convinced that playtesting is done, some rumors are still incoming.4

Dwarven Leaked Images

Images of the new Dwarves are now floating around the internet virtually everywhere. There are lots of them, and I have to say these models are nice. Games Workshop has proven themselves with these, so check them out.

January Release for Dark Age

The January releases for Dark Age are here, and its the Skarred who come out ahead of the rest. The Skarred a ton of fun, and nothing says Skarred more than an Abomination to lead the pack. Here are the new releases for Dark Age.

Forgeworld Working on Some Salamanders

The new Forgeworld blog is showing up a cool pic of a new space marine model that is heading towards production, that in my mind looks like a Salamander Marine. I think its more interesting that they are doing Salamanders, rather than seeing the actual model right now.

If you have not yet seen the new Forgeworld Blog or want to check out the pic, its worth checking out. Here is the link to it.

Epic May Include Primarchs, Chaos Traitor Legions, and Ork Clans

A breathe of life put forward and into the Games Workshop Specialists games would be refreshing. I personally loved Battlefleet Gothic, and somehow missed Epic. So I would love to see these games come back in some fashion, and this morning we have some rumors to do just that.

The Green Tide on the Horizon

There are a lot of rumors flying about the internet right now, and the very latest is that Orks are coming sooner than expected. One of the sources here on this site said August, but those were not very reliable rumors. So I am going to go with June as the guys over at 40k radio are saying.

Putting it All Together With a 7th Edition/Chaos Marine Rumor

Over the weekend 40k radio had posted up some clarifications or details regarding 7th edition and some of the Chaos Marine rumors we have been talking about here for a week. I thought it was time to discuss these a little, because even though they at first appear to be in conflict with certain rumors, like the ones over on Bols, they line up just fine when taken into context, and with other whispers I have been hearing.

It goes something like this. Yes, 7th edition is not being called a new edition, its down to a rules update, and we might start seeing these yearly depending on how they work out. This could happen as early as May, as 40k radio is saying it is (I dont have a date on this).

New Updated Warhammer 40,000 Starter Set: Blood Angels and Orks

There is a new rumor out today that this September we will see a new box set release of Blood Angels and Orks.

February Releases Revealed

Here is the list of releases for February, at least for the first weeks of the month. There are some interesting things here, especially along the Dwarves. Further down the list in the digital releases, there is some interesting things as well.

Unforgiven: Warhammer World Tournament Results

Welcome back to the Unforgiven editorial about recent tournament changes. Before I jump into an analysis of the finer points of the tournament, I just wanted to let you all know how we did. We finished joint 27/98 achieving a total of 142 victory points over the course of the tournament. The games went a little like this:

Dwarves Incoming February 1st: Teaser Video is Live

A new video is up on youtube showing giving us a teaser that there are definitely Dwarves coming in the next week or so. The date on it is Feb 1st, and since no pre-orders are aleady up, we can assume that the rumors are true for this army book release happening in the second week of the month instead of the tradional 1st Saturday.

Ork Playtesting

Yesterday we had some Ork playtest rumors, and this is a response we had from one of our sources who helps us stay on track with rumors.

Dropzone Tactics and Battle Report

Late Saturday night into Sunday morning there was a massive Dropzone game going on here at the house. It was a 3000pts grudge match of my Scourge vs the PHR. The last time these two armies had faced each other it was a super close match that ended up within 40pts of each other with the victory going to the Scourge.

Here is what happened during the rematch. I was excited to get this game in, as this was the first game of Dropzone with my recently returned models from Blue Table Painting.

Orks, Space Wolves, and Grey Knights Have This in Common

Orks, Space Wolves, and Grey Knights not in their display cabinets at Warhammer World. The Battle Brothers doubles tournament wrapped up today, and I believe we will be getting a first hand report on it here shortly. One of the things noticed though while at Warhammer World is the armies that were missing from their display cabinets.

More White Dwarf Leaks, Including A Plastic Dwarf Lord

The full cover has been leaked now for the new White Dwarf alongside some pics of the sprues to a new Dwarf Lord kit.

Are These Ork Playtest Rules?

These were sent into me, and while I would add quite a bit of salt to this one, its always worth taking a look at. This rumor puts Orks for a release sometime around August, and delves into the rules for Ork Boyz,
Deff Dreads, and Killa Kans.

A New Direction for Specialist Games

Blood Bowl, Gothic and other specialist games have quite a few fans that would love to see them come back. It has been rather sad that these games have kind of fallen by the wayside, but this rumor takes another look at them, and brings some of the back from the Grave.

Escalation / Stronghold Assault tournament testing

Escalation / Stronghold Assault tournament testing
A Guest Article by Karvala

I thought I’d drop you an email to follow up on something that was suggested back in December when Escalation and Stronghold Assault hit.

Dwarf Pic Leaks from the New White Dwarf

There are some images that have been floating around since late last night from the new White Dwarf that is due out next week. These are of a couple Dwarven models that appear to be Hammerers and a special character.

Update Rules Coming Alongside a Box Set and Campaign

September will be the launch of a new campaign alongside an updated rulebook, and box set release. These are a response from a solid source who helps us stay on track, and keep us informed on what the future will bring.

New Edition for 40k and Fantasy?

There are some rumors floating around that some changes to Warhammer Fantasy are coming, and the one that catches my eye here the most, is that the systems are going to be brought closer together for easier cross over.

A First Look at Tyranid Vanguard: Rising Leviathan 1

The new Tyranid Dataslate is upon us now, and its time to take a look at it. It holds 5 new formations, and these are not apocalypse only. That is a decent amount of content for the codex, as each special formation has its own special abilities to be used on the tabletop.

Epic To Return

GW Specialist games often feel like they are very gone, and are often rare to see on the gaming tables. Well tonight we have a rumor from Tim that Epic will be returning towards the end of this year, with complete rules, models and starters sets.

Long War Supplement QnA Compilation

Yesterday we had a good QnA session about a rumored supplement on the horizon. The QnA session centers around a new Long War Supplement for Chaos Marines that is sure to give a wide variety of options to what you will be able to do. Here is a condensed version of what was talked about during the QnA, as well as the original rumor.

Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade: 40k MMO

I have been given permission to post up a preview of the pre-alpha version of the new 40k MMO, Eternal Crusade. A Warhammer 40k MMO has always been something I was interested in, as I would love to see the 40k universe from a first person perspective and was a little frustrated when Dark Millennium went away. So of course any news on a new game catches my attention, and this one takes on the look and feel of the first person shooter Space Marine.

What Weekly Releases Will Bring

Another rumor set I have been meaning to get to, is that talking a lot about the new move to weekly releases. These would come independently of the monthly releases, freeing up units that have been waiting for a chance to be updated.

Chaos Marine Model Updates

These really tie into a lot of the rumors we have been talking about here on Faeit 212 for most of the week, and correlate to the time frame that we have been hearing. However, these rumors go a little further and talk about Obliterators, Chaos Cultists, and of course the Helbrute.

Imperial Knights, IG Renamed, and Wood Elves in May

Imperial Knights will not be a part of the Imperial Guard codex, and for the matter, the Imperial Guard codex will be renamed, Astra Militarium (quite the mouthful). So looking ahead we have some very cool things on the horizon.

Imperial Knights Coming in March

There has been rumors in the past that we would see Imperial Knights coming, and for the most part, we have taken them as speculation. Today 40k radio who generally has good sources, has said that we will see the Imperial Knights released.

Unforgiven: Pre-Tournament Thoughts

Hello again all, as many of you will know from reading my introduction, I am due to attend the Battle Brother's tournament at Warhammer World this weekend.

As previously mentioned, this will be the first official games workshop event to incorporate both Forgeworld, Escalation and Stronghold Assault, and I really wanted to highlight my expectations ahead of this tournament with a few predictions:

Can Tyranids Compete? Watch and See!

Hey everyone, Reecius here from Frontline Gaming to talk about some more extensive play-testing we've done on the new Nids!

An Interesting Conversation with a GW Rep.

Some of this goes against conventional wisdom or other information and I think some of this stems from the opinion of the rep. rather than official policy or sentiment. Otherwise there is a lot of topics covered and a lot of good information here that it deserves some attention.

Tyranid Vanguard: A Total of 5 New Formations

The new Tyranid Vanguard is the first of three new codex dataslates that is scheduled for Tyranids. The first of these Games Workshop today gave a preview of the contents that include 5 new formations for Tyranids. This could very well be the biggest of all the new Dataslates released to date.

The image above is a released image from the GW and the Black Library for the new Dataslate.

First off here is the link that provides some insight to the new formations and contents of the dataslate.
http://www.blacklibrary.com/Blog/Vanguard-of-the-Leviathan_.html

The new release Tyranid Vanguard starts off with some background into the infiltrators of the Tyranid Hive Fleets and the narrative will continue through each of the Leviathan Dataslates. The first includes battles against the Catachan defenders, as well as the Aurora Space Marine chapter. Of course a Vanguard force would not be complete without including Deathleaper.

via Eddie on the Black Library Blog
The next section contains five new Datasheet formations that give you new ways to use your Tyranids collection in games of Warhammer 40,000. These are primarily aimed at allowing you to represent the insidious tactics of Leviathan’s vanguard attacks against Satys. However, you could just as easily use a single formation alongside your standard Tyranid detachment, or even use them all together to create a super-sneaky army of Tyranid stealth specialists (they came out of the trees!).
There are five formations in total, all of which link back to the Tyranid swarm’s tactics from the background section of the book. My personal favourite is ‘The Broodlord’s Hunting Pack’, a group of Genestealers led into battle by a single malicious and utterly predatory intelligence.

Finally there are two echoes of war missions, and the Black Library let out the name of our next dataslate for Leviathan Rising: Tyranid Invasion

A Flip Through of the New White Dwarf Weekly: Dwarven Releases and Rules

The first White Dwarf weekly is about to be revealed. Inside are the Dwarven releases of Longbeards and Hammers, as well as a few characters and a special character with rules.

QnA on The Long War Supplement: Veteran Skill Upgrades

Now we have even more details on a new rumored supplement for Chaos Space Marines with the Veterans of the Long War rule. This includes a list of confirmed skills upgrades and how these are paid for in point cost to the unit.

Deadzone Enforcers: Spartan Style.

Prodigal Here.

I'm finally starting to paint my Deadzone Enforcers and I've come up with what a pretty solid/simple idea:  unique colors for each Enforcer.  I had the idea when I was rooting through my stack of xbox games and came upon my copy of Halo Reach.
