Faeit 212 BlogExchange: Blogs From Around the World

This week we have 3 new additions to the BlogExchange to check out. So sit down relax, and discover some blogs you may not have yet discovered.

So what is the Blog Exchange? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are interested in. So if your blog is being added, Mondays is when I spotlight each new blog to the exchange. The purpose of the Faeit 212 BlogExchange is to generate traffic and ideas to the wider community of Warhammer related blogs around the world.

Blogging Tip of the Week
Alone Blogging in Some Closet of the Interweb
Often times writing on your blog can feel like you are isolated, and talking to yourself. Even now with a decent sized set of readers here on Faeit 212, I often do feel like I am sitting in some dark corner of the room, talking to myself.

Worse yet, when you first start up your blog, you often really are just talking to yourself. So how do you get those first few readers and comments?

Well we are going to assume that your content is what people want to read, and just move past that for now. Its important that if you want some one to actually come to your site or blog, that you make that possible. No one will find it all on their own, and you have no ranking on the search engines. Lets get the sites name up and some links going.

Its very important to right from the start, to get some content up. Get those first few articles, beyond "Im starting a blog" and get the content down. Once you have something for someone to actually read up on the site, start looking around for blogging networks that can get you onto their blog rolls.

For example, if you are here and have a blog, you should already be on the Faeit 212 BlogExchange here. If you are not, send me an email and get a move on. Many networks require you to have your site up for a certain time frame, but don't let that discourage you. Just keep on blogging and you will be able to get on them down the road.

Take advantage of other bloggers sites that offer similar exchanges of being on the blog rolls. There are many out there.

Do forums help? They can. Its a mixed bag to be posting up on forums with links to your site. For the most part forums are a huge negative, and I tend to avoid posting anything using "Natfka" on any forums, and really have just left them alone for the last couple years or so. My suggestion regarding forums is to leave them alone, the drama is all consuming and worse than an incoming Tyranid Hive Fleet. Many forums feel like you've just picked yourself up out of the sewer once you've left.

Its very likely that if readers do get engaged, that links will appear from related forums. These are nice, as it draws readers that are not generated by you. Instead those readers are interested in the actual content, and word of mouth is by far better than any self promotion of a site.

Stick to what you want to do with your blog.

Starting a Blog
-Set the site
-Get a few articles done
-Start Networking through Hobby Networks and the BlogExchange here.
-Continue to Post Regularly

Above all else, try as much as you can to become engaged on other peoples blogs as well. Do this and you may end up seeing some of those people visiting your own site. After all, its not much fun if you spend all your time blogging in some dark corner all to yourself. (The first 9 months of this site, were dreadfully empty, so I've been there)
