Release Rumors: Breaking the Mold

There is a lot of confusion lately on what is going to be released and when. Even though most rumor sources around the web are still saying September, there is a lot of disbelief, so hopefully this will shed a little light on the subject, as well as put forth a possible date for the next codex release.

Chaos Marines: Clarifications to Questions

So yesterday we saw some of the pics regarding the rules from the starter set. While they were the basic rules, there was some confusion on the hellbrute and its number of base attacks, as well as what is going on with Chosen and their leadership. This set clears those issues up, and gives some more insight to the upcoming Chaos Marine Codex.

Time to get down and dirty. Those that have followed my Dark Eldar Tacticas in the past know that I do like some crazy suicidal things in my lists. (not all the time, I just find them fun). Hence my ramming raiders in 5th edition, and my overdosing Archons in 3rd.

6th Edition Terrain Project

The Horus Heresy book 1, from Forgeworld is going to be a huge hit. I think the hype for this is far out doing anything I have seen in the recent past for Forgeworld. Its going to be a huge seller. Even if I never play a Horus Heresy game, I will be getting these simply for the artwork alone.

The State of Rumors: Starter Sets and Chaos Marines

My mornings is where I get the most work done on this blog. My routine is simple, wake up, start coffee, work out. Then shortly my coffee is ready to go ( I am going to get nowhere without it), and I hit the computer.

I always start off with email (unless no caffeine then who knows), and work my way through the blog, and then off to hunt down rumors. Starting with email can sometimes bog me down, as I do like to respond to each email that comes in (I probably miss a couple, but I try). There is a huge theme going on this last weekend and up through today, so even though I have answered what I could, I thought I would bring up the  almost single focus of emails I have been receiving. This is one hell of a tank. Above all else check out the Magna-Melta in the experimental rules. The one thing I like about predators and always have, is the armour values, and the extreme flexibility of layouts, and this one is no different.

The Horus Heresy's first book is coming soon, and its Gamesday UK 2012 for the first book's release date. The first book will be a huge hit, and I am hoping we see a series of books that will lead right up onto the Emperors Doorstep. 

Changes to White Dwarf

White Dwarf is moving to new offices and will have a new format soon. This is a nice change, as it seems more money is being invested into the magazine for more content.

I think for a starter set, this set is excellent, not only for the value of how much you get, but also for the models themselves. Even the models I was really unsure of.... like the Dark Angels Company Master, I liked much more after getting a closer look at it.

Changes to the Heavy Bolter: Marines (updated)

There is one weapon that does not often see the light of day, (unless your grey knights with psybolt ammunition), and that is the Heavy Bolter. So it was an odd choice to see it in the sternguard upgrade pack that is being released mid-month. This rumor declares for certain marine units, the Heavy Bolter is going to get updated for space marines.......

This rumor was not coming across well and has been removed. It was incorrect. I will update this a little later. I will get it correct this time.

Starter Set Missions Are Here.

The new starter set comes with 6 missions to be played with the models in the set. The first two of which are single player missions (a big help I'm sure to get people into the game). They are listed out here, so a huge thanks goes out to Redemption on Warseer for sharing these with the public.

September Releases- Listed Out

The first thing you are going to say.... is where is my Chaos Space Marines. Well, this is just the list that is sent out to retailers, so we are still looking for a mid month Chaos Space Marine release. Notice the list only goes out to Sept 15th.

Dark Vengeance is only a short few days before pre-orders and now we have the pricing and release information regarding both the Limited Edition and the Standard Starter Sets.

Want to Run Your Own Store?

In the latest GW newsletter I received this morning, there was something interesting, at least for myself. So I apologize to many of that this does not effect.

Games Workshop is looking at Portland Oregon for store! At least it appears that way. Portland Oregon is listed below, and unless I am missing something, Portland has not been listed here before. This would definitely change the dynamics of the independents around here, but I think a local store (located in near Washington Square or even Lloyd Center) would be ideal.

That was one hell of a week. There was all the White Dwarf leaks showing off Dark Vengeance and its models. That alone made for an excellent week.

Presence of Faeit is my weekly editorial. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Release Schedule: Chaos Daemons

I believe I get asked several times a day whether or not Chaos Marines are going to be released in September, and the answer is that I can't be 100%.  So I am throwing down all the current rumors as I see them, between Warseer and here on Faeit 212, so that possibly we might decipher what will lies ahead.

No matter what happens though, with only 3 release months left in the year, these last few months are looking like a very tight release schedule. (I don't count December for codex releases, but I am sure we will see something that month).

Blog Wars 4

Blog Wars has settled on a date. It will be held at Maelstrom on Saturday December 1st 2012. In Blog Wars this year, they are working hard at using as much of the 6th edition rules as possible, so I said I would help them advertise it. Look forward very soon to a True 6th Edition Tournament list that will get a page of its own.

Whats Next? Chaos Space Marine Codex?

There is one question that has been in the comment sections of every post yesterday, and that is "What about the rest of September, is the Chaos Marine codex still rumored to be coming out?"

Well to answer that, I did discuss this directly with a couple different sources, and received some replies. So while trying to create a little suspense this morning without caffeine can be a little dangerous, you will have to read below to see what the answers were.

Here are some leaked pics from the 6th Edition Starter Set.  It starts off with the Chaos Lord above, the chosen champion, chosen, cultist, and then some Dark Angels, Company Commander and Librarian.
