The Latest on the new Warhammer Fantasy army book, Vampire Counts. This book is due to be released shortly and the information keeps rolling in faster than I can keep up.

Chaos Legion Rumors: Compilation

This morning we are looking at the current rumors for what is expected to be the biggest releases of 2012, Chaos Legions. If Chaos Legions hit the shelves this year, I think a good majority of long time 40k players will consider it a good a year. Add to that Tau, possibly Black Templar, a 6th edition summer release and wow. Did I mention there are even rumors of Eldar being released towards the end of the year.

Tau Empire Rumor Compilation

Many rumors place the Tau Empire next, or shortly after a Black Templar release. I enjoy new races, and seeing a new one added into the Tau Empire really have gotten the excitement going for this release (the Demuirg). While several rumors place Black Templar first, there are just as many that claim the Tau are next.

Regardless 2012 should give us a Tau codex sometime before July when we expect a 6th edition release. So lets take a look at the current set of rumors. There is even a new bit at the end of the compilation.

Whats Next for 40k? IG of Course

There has been long standing rumors that the Imperial Guard will be getting another release, bringing along with it Hydra Flak tanks and plastic Stormtroopers/Veterans. Well, this rumor is pretty simple and does not give the details, but this is what we would expect out of a quick Imperial Guard release.

It should be noted that if we are looking at some nice February releases for IG, I fully expect that it will be alongside a second Necron wave. Games Workshop really should do this, as it then gives open space to release another codex in March or April.

Reasons for the Rumor Lockdown

A rumor that originates from the Throne of Skulls in Las Vegas has said that the rumor lockdown is due to one thing; The Hobbit.

We have heard before of possible rumor clampdowns because of leaks, and because of legal problems with other modelling companies quickly releasing models to fill in gaps left by Games Workshop. This one takes the rumor clamp down a little further, and in my opinion looks more like an excuse (pointing fingers somewhere else) than anything based on reality. It may have some partial truths to it though, so take a look.

Black Templar Rumor Compilation

The year is at its final moments, and what we are looking at are three, possibly four codices for 2012 (I got the plural version right for once... : ) ).  There are rumors that place Black Templar or Tau first for Warhammer 40k. Which one at the moment seems to be quite the toss up.

So lets get down to it, and take a look at the current rumors for what might be the first 40k codex for 2012. We know it will not be in January, since we already know that Vampire Counts are getting their army book in January. That pushes us out to the very minimum February, but probably March for 40k. I would imagine we would see a Necron second wave though for February.

Will the Black Templar end up being a White Dwarf release? Who knows. This coming year is supposed to be a big year for Warhammer 40k, so anything is possible at this moment.

Games Day Model 2012 Revealed

Here is the Games Day Exclusive model for 2012. It was revealed in the latest White Dwarf and is a model taken straight from John Blanche's original artwork. It will be a Citadel Finecast model.

Pics of the Week: The Forces of Chaos

This week for the pics of the week, I am concentrating on Chaos Marines. It is by far the next codex that I will play. I am already excited about it, and will jump right into it. I am hoping that there will be a chapter in the Legions codex that I will love as much as I did my old Night Lords, or I will simply be restarting my Night Lords. Only time will tell.

Chaos Legions: Rumors of the Chosen

Chosen Chaos Space Marines are one of my favorite units when it come down to the current Chaos Codex. Now they were simply veterans from back in the day, and I ran my whole Night Lords army based off of them. Back then Chosen were allowed two heavy weapons with 5 chaos marines and they could infiltrate. Night Lords were just able to take veterans as troops, which made it a very exciting army to play when your entire army infiltrated.

Now as it stands in the current codex they get the single heavy/ special weapon and then up to 4 other models can get a special weapon and infiltration is still part of it. Still exciting, but a little on the expensive side of things.

Vampire Counts Release Date, Pics, and Summary

Vampire Counts are the next army book to be released January 14th, and Wow do they look amazing. Games Workshop once again releases another set of high quality miniatures.

Trailer of the Year: The Hobbit

Well, a few years back, one of the best big screen movies came to end as the final extended version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy was released. While I have not been a fan of the tabletop of the games released for it (I generally do not play the latest the fad), I am blown over the top with this trailer for the movie. In fact I started the book again just yesterday.

This trailer is now a couple days old, and if you have not seen it, consider it something to watch that is fun for Christmas Eve. As for trailer of the year, if there was a real award for one, The Hobbit has my vote.

The first movie is set to hit the theatres December 14th 2012, while the second is set for December of 2013.

Firespite Gunship Coming to Space Marines?

There has been talk of a new mystery vehicle for Space Marines and although the information is mostly non-existent, its time to jump in on the conversation about what could end up being the Firespite Gunship mentioned during the Badab War.

Please note that the pic is back from Rogue Trader days, and is not a pic of the Firespite. It could however be something that GW designers look backwards to, in order to find inspiration.

Conflicting Rumors for 2012

Here is more in response to Stickmonkeys release schedule. These rumors are from Straightsilver and has some contradictions in it.

In fact the whole stickmonkeys release schedule blows out a lot on the current line of rumors, not only from Straightsilver and Ghost21, but from a whole host of other sources. Of course, GW often changes their minds and delays things. It could very well be that Chaos Legions was just now decided to be pushed back, and Stickmonkey just has the quickest handle on the latest information. We shall see.

The Future is Here. Release Schedule 2012, 2013, and 2014

Here is a release schedule like nothing we have been hearing but from another confident source. It makes Tau the next codex, and I can hear the celebrating and cheering from all the Tau fans around the world.

Chaos Legion Rumors: Cult Terminators and More

Here we go, some more specific Chaos Legions, including cult terminator shoulder pads coming soon. This is something I really hope that we are going to see. I remember cult terminators, and those dang nurgle ternminators really used to ruin my day. If these keep up, I am going to go broke since I will need a good 7k points in Chaos Legions.

We are in the Christmas season with the new year right around the corner now. There is a lot going on everywhere, and getting games in has been pushed down on my list of things I can get in. With that being said I have been doing a little modelling in the Imperial Guard arena. Rumors are also a little scarce this time of the year, but a few snippets are coming in. However all the talk seems to be sitting around rumor sources, so today I will discuss that a little, with a full post sometime early in the week.

Those Craftworld Eldar are still one of those armies that many people aspire to. This has always been my goal, one day, to be good enough at modeling and painting to someday do Eldar. Todays rumor bits are simply a little vague, but fun to hear, as anything is better than nothing.

Its been a long time since I have thrown up a list on the blog, so with all the email requests I have been working on lately with readers, I thought I would throw down an Imperial Guard list that I like. Note that my favorite point level is 2500pts, so I generally make lists at that point level. The games are just more enjoyable, and I think the days of 1500pts are really disappearing.

There are a few misc thing floating around about a new allied race for the Tau. The rumors state that these units will not be available right away, which means we will see some converting going on upon release if the rumor holds true. The second little snippet is a rumor with some concept pics displaying a Vespid Heavy (or something close to).

Chaos Legions and Renegades

Todays rumor set comes at us discussing Traitor Guard, Chaos Legions, and Renegades. For awhile now we have been seeing rumors of a Legions codex, which seems to really be happening, and that Renegades will be seeing a white dwarf update this year with a codex sometime in the future.

Dark Eldar Tactica: The Compilation

Here it is, the complete "I don't have to search through endless posts" Dark Eldar Tactica. Now even though this was written by me, it was compiled a few months back by lululu 42.

New Tau Rumors: Sky Ray, HQ Unlocks Troops

This morning we have a good set of Tau rumors, that confirm a few things we heard quite some time ago about them. The HQ unlocks troops rumor is once again mentioned and its mechanics are listed below. Also of note, the new "battlemech" unit has something from 6th edition rumors called "brace". Faeit 212 BlogExchange: Cosplay and Blood Angels

This week we have two very interesting blogs to add to the exchange. One dedicated to Cosplay (the first for the exchange) from Lithuania, and the other to the Blood Angels with some fantastic models. I love finding new blogs to read, and to get ideas and thoughts on the hobby from around the world, and these two are definetly worth your time to check out.

So what is the Blog Exchange? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are interested in. Tau Rumor Compilation (Updated)

There are a few new bits to the Tau that have been floating around. A new special character named Iceheart and some info on what is going to be released in the first wave is also in there. Warhammer in the News (Updates plus a response from GW)

A few days back a greek newspaper article published a rather unflattering article. According to the journalist that wrote the piece, in this hobby we are all Nazi's, Racist, and complete idiots, at least that is what you get from this article.

Wrath of Iron is being written by Chris Wraight, author of the Battle of the Fang, so it’s a fair bet that the content of the novel will be every bit as awesome and action-packed as the cover. This novel will be released in July next year
