Modelling Extreme: Magnetic Levitating Eldar Jetbike

This is very cool, and a huge congrats to John Beech on completing this. I know that many of us are curious as to see how exactly he built that base!

Not only is the levitating fun, but I like the converted jetbike.

The Complete Rules and More Leaks- The Age of Sigmar

The complete rules and more leaked pics are up from Lady Atia. This gives some great looks at how the game is played, although I am still trying to figure out exactly how armies are selected.

Here is the latest on the Age of Sigmar.....

The Future of the Age of Sigmar, Thoughts and Insight

Where will the Age of Sigmar go over the next year? What we are seeing now and over the next few months are just the tip of the iceberg, which will be expanded upon over the next 9-12 months. While we are not getting anything solid on what is coming, below are some thoughts regarding the Warhammer Fantasy, the End Times, and what has gone into the Age of Sigmar.

The Age of Sigmar- White Dwarf and Rules

There have been a bunch of leaks concerning the rules, and what will be in White Dwarf, and this bit captures a lot of that. There is more to come, and we will see just how the Age of Sigmar plays out down the road.

Rules Leaked for the Age of Sigmar

While the rules are free, we can get an early look at them, and there are some interesting things inside. At the moment I am looking forward to getting into this game, and we will see more as the rules finally become available.

This Week's Releases.... Leaked!!!

Here is what is coming for the Age of Sigmar this week's pre-orders. Its the launch of a new game, based on the old Warhammer Fantasy, and its so far color me intrigued. Lets take a look at this week.

More Weapons for the Warlord Titan

The Warlord Titan is here, and now with new weapon options coming. I would imagine that there will be quite a few more coming, so get your Warlord ready!

Age of Sigmar- The Base Question Answered, New ebooks.....

The question that has been killing the community for quite a long time was whether or not they would have to rebase their models.... The answer is no, any base shape is legal, but new models will come with oval and round bases.

The Age of Sigmar- Here is What is Inside the Box!

Free Rules, confirmed. All Fantasy models usable, confirmed. There will be 96 pages of background only available through the Age of Sigmar boxset, followed by 18 Stormcast Eternals and 29 Warriors of Khorne. Not only that but we are looking at $120 for the set, which was a concern since early rumors had it a little higher.

Take a look at the very latest for the Age of Sigmar!

Dropzone News- New Famous Commanders, New Scenery Packs, and More

A latest newsletter was just released for Dropzone Commander announcing the newest releases, which we have already covered, but also a little new information regarding what is coming up.

Forgeworld Working on Several Space Marine FAQs

Leave it to Forgeworld to be already getting hard at work for their FAQs before the ink dries. The new Space Marines have several books that need to be updated, especially along the lines of the Dreadnoughts getting updated. Here is a readers question and answers from Forgeworld.

No 40k for 4 Months! and Then Tau

So the latest rumor has there being no 40k for the next 4 months as Games Workshop pushes the Age of Sigmar. That would be quite the dry spell, and the longest we have had in a long time..... Would we even remember how to play 40k after 4 months?

Age of Sigmar, Lots of Information and More Leaks

The Age of Sigmar instantly has had a polarized reception and that really was to be expected with the demise of Fantasy. There is a lot more information coming in, including that a model is rumored to be given for free with the White Dwarf.

Check out the Latest Age of Sigmar information and images.

Scourge

I am finally doing some list tests to figure out what I really plan on bringing to Nova this year. So lets start off with the Scourge and see where this takes me.

Armybooks Gone and a New Kind of Ebook

All of the army books for Warhammer Fantasy I checked were missing on the GW webstore this morning confirming the reports I was hearing. This along with the FAQ's missing yesterday are signs there is about to big reshuffling of the Fantasy models on the GW site.

Also a new banner today hinting at something new for ebooks

Pre-Orders are Live- Windrider Battlehost

The pre-orders this week from Games Workshop most likely have you and everyone else sitting back and relaxing for the first time in weeks. Its a slow week, with a new Windrider Battlehost and The Hammer of Caliban releases. Of course this is the calm before the storm.... the Age of Sigmar is coming next week.

Warhammer Fantasy Says Goodbye

With the Age of Sigmar on the horizon, there has been a lot of talk about the game that is replacing Warhammer Fantasy. Today another nail was been driven into the coffin for Fantasy, as the Warhammer Fantasy FAQ's are now completely removed from the Games Workshop site. You will have to grab them while you can over on the Black Libraries website.

DzC- New Pre-Orders are Live!

The models we saw early on Wednesday are now available for pre-orders. The heavy hitting UCM Hazard Suits to the Scourge Screamers, and more are available now. The rules for these are set to come out in a couple weeks.

Mars Pattern Warlord Titan- Pre-Orders are Live

Just Wow. Just when you thought you were saving up for something else.... like a car.... Forgeworld has to do this. Fantastic model, and just enough wow factor to make me want to sit down at the modelling table for hours to work on this. Simply amazing.

Leaked Images- The Models for the Age of Sigmar!

At last we have some leaked images for the Age of Sigmar that show us some models from what looks like the starter set (reading through some of the text). We can see both forces in the pictures, Chaos and the Mortal Realms.

Lots of Battle Reports

OK, its getting real late... or early and I am still up reading on various sites. BTW quite a few new sites were added to the BlogExchange tonight, so take a look over there along the right hand side of the site.

Kickstarters to Check Out

Tonight Im sitting back and relaxing... which means one thing, doing some reading and trying to get caught up on email. There are a couple kickstarters that I wanted to point out, one that deals with custom bases, and the other custom made to order decals.

The First Leaks- Age of Sigmar.... Free Rules

We have some solid information now that looks like it was accidentally put onto the German Games Workshop website. The best part is that we have the screenshots that reveal that the Age of Sigmar will come with Free Rules.

Age of Sigmar Rumored Box Contents

I find this rumor interesting if it pans out to be true, as it leads me to believe the box set is a very basic set of rules for the Age of Sigmar. This rumor comes from Steve the Warboss, and I've been sitting on it for a day or so to see if we have something substantial. I am hoping that we can get leaked images or word on the new game from early White Dwarf information sometime this weekend.

The Badab War Part 1

There is an ad that pops up when you are trying to order Forgeworld models for the Badab War Part 1. The Badab War Part One is Imperial Armour Volume 9, is there the possibility that a new update is coming? The Ad leads to an error page.

Leaked- Dark Angels Codex Artwork- and Age of Sigmar Banner

There is some new artwork in the Dark Angels codex, and today we get to take a look at it, as well as a new banner for the Age of Sigmar courtesy of Lady Atia on her Twitter account. There she has a nice collection of images that we can check out.

New Dropzone Commander Models Revealed!

Quite literally it seems someone jumped the gun and revealed the next set of releases for Dropzone Commander along with the pricing. For one the new Scourge units look and sound amazing...... not to mention that each of these seems to fill in a niche not already in each army. I can't wait to hear more, and to get some insight to some rules on these!!!

DzC Commentor: The UCM

The UCM are one of the armies that I really like to play, and the combinations of artillery alongside ferrums and Kodiaks can be far reaching and devastating to opponents on the tabletop. Today Alex, from DzC Commentor over on Gamerati published his weekly Dropzone article on helping new players select an army that fits what their playstyle.

The UCM is first up, and Alex dives head first into just what the United Colonies of Mankind are, and how they are played.

Warhammer the App- Now On Adroid

The Warhammer App is now on the Android platform, which has been an issue of complaint for some time now. I personally read the Warhammer App on an iphone, and while there is often not a lot of information there, free wallpapers is one of my favorite things to see listed there. Today though they are bringing back the Adamantine Lance Formation for the Imperial Knights as a free dataslate.

The Hunt for the Fallen

This week we have seen lots of leaked images, from the entire Dark Angels codex (which you can find a link on Spikey Bits to), to this week's White Dwarf releases. However I was curious as to anything else that might not yet be revealed, whether they be paint splatter hints, or other articles for the Age of Sigmar to discover more hints for next week. Here is what was uncovered......

Battlefleet Gothic and Total War Warhammer Videos

Angry Joe has landed some great interviews for two of my favorite upcoming video game releases, Total War Warhammer and Battlefleet Gothic. These are two interviews that if you have any interest at all in these games you should take the time to watch.

Age of Sigmar- More Leaked Images

There are a lot of images out now as people are looking hard for any information on the new Age of Sigmar that is due out soon. While this does not reveal much in regards to what the Age of Sigmar will be, the White Dwarf team has taken the entire history of the Warhammer and turned it into a prelude to what is to come.

Comment Sections and BlogExchange

A couple housekeeping items I wanted to keep people apprised of, what I am thinking in the comment section, as well as the latest bugs in blogger that had been keeping any new additions from being added to the Feait 212 BlogExchange.

Comment Section
First of all, I have been reading and re-reading all the comments and emails that were sent in regarding the comment section on the site. What does stick out the most, is that so many of you really do care about the comment section. It's rare to get so many emails and comments on a single subject, so the topic has been one that I have been considering carefully. To remove the comment section does a lot to negate any sense of community (for good and bad), so is definitely not the way to go.

Not only that, but the comments I have been reading have taken a few steps back from the severe over the last so many days since the article.

Here are the things that have been hitting my nerves when it comes to the comment section.
-personal attacks, name calling, etc. It doesn't really matter if someone deserves it or not, there is no reason for conversation to devolve into what was occurring.

-threats. We had several instances of real threats of physical violence towards other readers. I try and skim through the comment section and remove these quickly, but I can't always get to them in a timely manner. Threats, whether serious or not, are really unacceptable.

-having to delete comments. I don't like deleting or removing comments. The worst for me personally are when someone spends a lot of time and effort laying out their thoughts, and then ends it in slander against another reader. I can't edit out segments of a comment, and wiping out all that effort really just guts me. Or when a comment turns into a whole long run of negative replies and name calling. I have wiped out whole conversations because of that, which again often included those that were not part of the problem.

-accidental deletions. Yea, I have done it, as it really just takes a couple clicks and its gone. Especially when I am deleting other comments, I have removed comments several times over the years that were accidental.

So long story short. The comment sections have been looking a lot better. I am looking into other programs that will include better control over the comment section, but right now in the short term, I am going to leave them as is. Don't be surprised if I change it up in the next few months or so.

Also thank you to everyone who gave their input on the comment section. Its hard to reply to all the emails that came in on the subject, but I want everyone to know that I read all of them, and appreciate the responses.

Faeit 212 BlogExchange
There has been a recent bug lately with blogger that prevented the addition of any new sites to the Exchange. This has just been fixed by Google, so if you recently sent in your site to join the Exchange, I will start getting caught up here shortly. (There were quite a few new sites lining up to join).

The Age of Sigmar/ The Rule of Chaos Breaks

Next Week's hints are out with some of this week's White Dwarf Leaks. The Age of Sigmar is getting ready to launch,. Check out the very latest with the Mighty Champions and Dire Villains.

The Power of Ravenwing, (English Leaks), + Lord of War

There is still a lot of information coming for the new Dark Angels as we approach the codex's release this weekend. As it always happens, someone gets the dex early, and we get lots of information from various places that reveal what we are going to see.

This Week's Releases: Windrider Battlehost

This week's releases are a little on the light side with what looks like one bundle of Eldar Windriders. It looks like we are waiting until next week's Age of Sigmar for a significant release from Games Workshop.

New Ultramarines from Forgeworld

This week the Forgeworld Bulletin reveals a new model for the Ultramarines that is coming soon. A very ornate shield, (which in the picture hides a lot of the model well) makes it sound like we are going to be seeing a decent set of of releases for the guys in blue.

Dark Angel Leaks- Deathwing and Ravenwing and Much More

Deathwing and Ravenwing Detachments are in these leaked images, and you can clearly see up to 12 elite choices with Deathwing and 12 Fast Attack for Ravenwing. However, these leaks are in German, so I cant make much out of the special rules.

Dark Angels Compilations, and New Information

There is a lot of Dark Angels information out there right now, including a very nice compilation of information of what is new or changed in the new codex.

DzC Mid-Game Thoughts

Last we were talking about early game tactics and things to consider for when looking at Dropzone Commander. The early game is often about movement, field position, getting a jump on early objectives. Its time to talk about the mid-game, often rounds 3 and 4, where the fighting becomes thick and small errors can lead to big game changing events.

Dark Angels Codex and Model Release Video

The official Games Workshop video for the Dark Angels this week is up, and these videos are always the best way to see the new models while they are still on pre-orders.

Shaltari Ronin and Scourge Eviscerators Rules Released!!!!

Hawk Wargames today released the rules for their newest pre-orders..... The Shaltari Ronin and the Scourge Eviscerators. The Ronin I am most interested here, simply because they are bringing a whole new dynamic to the game with their unique rules. Yes, the Scourge Eviscerators are hard hitters with a CQB of 6, but the new Ronin with their Alpha Strike could mean that quite a bit of a Shaltari army gets to get the jump on enemy forces rather quickly. I need to see these in game.

Dark Angels Madness: Artwork and Rules

The Dark Angels have just come screaming onto the gaming scene with what so far appears to be a very solid, if not very strong codex. Just a quick look at getting free transports alongside full BS with overwatch can be incredibly powerful. I have a feeling that this dex is strong enough to bring out a lot of current Dark Angels players whose armies have been gathering some dust.

If you are looking to get a hold of the limited edition codex, its already too late to do so in the US or anywhere else.

Also below in the comments a lot of Dark Angel rules are appearing, thanks to a fully accessible glossary in the sample interactive digital codex. Thanks to Alendrel for answering questions and sharing.

Lets take a look at some of the images that have been released in the sample downloads for the new Dark Angels........

Dark Angel Pre-Orders are Live + iBook Previews

Dark Angels are up for Pre-Orders now, and if you live in many places, the limited the edition codex is already sold out. All of Europe for the most part looks sold out, as is Australia and New Zealand. The United States are not quite up yet, and the refresh wars are about to begin.
