Faeit 212 BlogExchange: New Additions

Today we have several blogs of note to add to the Faeit 212 BlogExchange. I cannot talk for most people, but like to sit down and browse through new blogs that I have not been to before. Finding them sometimes was tough, but that is why the BlogExchange here is so valuable. Its a great resource for new ideas, schemes, and ideas related to the hobby that we are so passionate about.

So what is the Blog Exchange? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are interested in. So if your blog is being added, Mondays is when I spotlight each new blog to the exchange. The purpose of the Faeit 212 BlogExchange is to generate traffic and ideas to the wider community of Warhammer related blogs around the world.

Dark Angels with Mortis Dreadnoughts and More Rumors

This morning we get to wake up to some Dark Angel bits. Now these are saying that Chaos Marines is next, but that Dark Angels will be sometime in the fall. I suppose that would make Chaos coming very soon.

This weekend has been a full one, with the 2nd wave of Necrons being released and tons of rumors (leaks) depending on how you are looking at it.

The Mysterious Dark Angel: Asmodai

This image has made its rounds during the week, and I thought I would pull it up. The two images were put together and sent to me by Stefan Probst showing how our mysterious White Dwarf image may be turning out. While the image on the right is the one that we have, the one on the left is a very distinct picture of Asmodai, and is probably where this image is going.

I dont know who made the image on the left. I dont think its real, but is an image someone put together of Asmodai to show where the image is going. Please take this as a rumor. Next months spine should be very revealing.

New Chaos Rumor: In the Dark Age of 40k..There Be Dragons.

Adding on to the rumors of Tastytaste yesterday, one of our own with some knowledge on the codex...ie he has it, chimed in on the mysterious infernal dragon mentioned in yesterdays news.

Master Class Volume 2

Master Class Volume 2 is now available. While I still have not gotten off my rear to get volume 1, volume 2 is a must get. I need to get both of these, so I am excited to see this release from Forgeworld.

Purge the Unclean: Grey Knight Purgation Squads

Easily dismissed, easily not acknowledged they are even in the codex, the Purgation Squad is another unit that is rarely seen in the lists of a Grey Knight player. I'm here to tell you that not only do these heavy support units compete, they deserve a spot in your lists.

Chaos is Coming: Traitor Guard!, Cultists!

Chaos Space Marines are something we very much want to see and find any real additional information. This morning we have new Chaos rumors that will stir things up.

The Dark Age of 40k: Only One Codex Release for 2012

Yes it would sadden all of us very much if there were only one release for Warhammer 40k this year. So far this year, it seems we have gotten everything "but" a codex. Having only one would be a very dis-service to the hobby in general, but if this turns out true, what options do you have...

I have been getting a lot of requests for specific chapter or army pictures, and figured that I would jump on getting these in. So in the near future you can expect to see some Raven Guard (todays), Iron Warriors, and some Death Korps of Krieg.

Flyer Release In the Next (June)'s White Dwarf

May's White Dwarf is very much already claimed by the second wave of Necrons, so what about the month of June? We normally see it the third weekend of the month previous, which means around May 19-21st. A lot of rumors are now pointing towards the end of May or beginning of June for a flyer release. Our current scheduled releases only go up to May 19th. You can see this here. Release Schedule on Faeit 212

What I find interesting is that the Necron 2nd wave specifically left out the flyer type units. The Dark Eldar are specifically missing their void raven, and an Ork flyer has been spotted in the warehouses (all boxed up and ready to go).

Necron Prices and a Huge Space Marine Release

May is the month of our Necron 2nd wave, but wow is it dominated by the release of a ton of space marine models moving to finecast. I am not sure what Games Workshop has missed when it comes to leaving any metal in the Marine line, but I am sure they just about got it covered here.

Suprise Wave of Flyers soon... and Much More

This morning DrLove42 dropped a nice rumor set on our lap. It includes May's big necron release, a suprise flyer release, and even something we hadnt heard yet...... Tau in November. Definetly worth the read. The best part is, a lot of it sounds rather logical with what we have been hearing but is more specific.

6th Edition Starter Set Contents

So many people now have given to the rumors of what armies will be in the 6th edition starter set, and some rumors have discussed a couple likely units that will be in the box. Today we have something a little more solid on just what Dark
Angel and Chaos Marine units we may be getting.

What I Hate About Grey Knights

There are quite a few things I love about Grey Knights. Even the fluff (cough cough) is not that bad, and I enjoy reading it. However there is one thing that frustrates me beyond anything when it comes to them.

Faeits Release Analysis for 2012/2013

Often I hear a lot of misc rumors and time lines that are given to me. So it was time for me to put them down on paper so to speak, and to logically take a look at what I have been hearing. This is no way set in stone, but is what I have been piecing together from various sources whispering in my direction. The most exciting though being that Tau should be seen in an early February release.

Primarchs and The Emperors Gift

This is the novel I have been waiting for, and now finally its up for pre-order. I will say that I am thankful for it being on pre-order and not available now, because I am very behind on my reading.

Necron Doomscythes Guarenteed Release?

I am not sure I like someone guarenteeing the release of something that we have not had an official announcement or leaked pictures on, but here it is. Take it as you want.

Apothecary and Deimos Predator

OK, this set completes what I need to make an order to Forgeworld. The Apothecary is just very cool, with a designated shoulder pad and very detailed tools set in the arm to extract that sacred progenoid organs needed to keep the chapter alive.

The Deimos Pattern Predator is another cool vehicle that has the option to take a Heavy Conversion Beamer. Of course it comes with the rule "firing calibration" so it cannot move when firing the gun. The next capable variant comes with a plasma destroyer, and is able to fire 3 S7 Ap2 small blast templates at 36".

Strike Squads

This is not a comprehensive look at the Strike Squad, but follows the reasoning of a few of the thing I like about them and what I use them for. For those not completely familair with the Grey Knight Strike Squads, they are one of the two basic troop choices for Grey Knights.

Ork Shaped Flyer Spotted, Follow Up to Autumn of Flyers

A little late night snippet, discussing whether or not we are going to see flyers as part of the 6th edition or as something else. Also spotted in the GW distribution centre is what appears to be an Ork Aircraft.

Autumn of Flyers

The Autumn of Flyers is one of those rumors that tends to get people all worked up. I know last year we were looking for a Summer of Flyers and well, we all know that did not happen.

With the coming of a Necron second wave, many people are expecting Necron flyers to be held back a few months awaiting this Autumn of Flyers release that seems to persist. So I figured it was time to put a little hesitation back into the works on a possible flyer expansion or flyer release for the fall. Something is definetly coming for flyers, but what that is?

2nd Wave to Include Doom Scythes and More

Even though Beasts of War rumors left out the Doom Scythe, this mornings rumor comes to us from Adeptus Miniatures. Now this conflicts with Beasts of War, and goes against the current thinking that flyers may just come out in a group in the fall.  

The Unkindness of Ravens

A video from the Black Library about the upcoming limited edition novel The Unkindness of Ravens, which is available coming May 7th. The book and even much more for me, the artwork sounds promising. Personally I just ordered Deliverence Lost, and am going to be starting Know No Fear tonight or tomorrow.

A day late, simply because I was up way to late Saturday to get anything done for Sunday. In fact, I was well into the morning Sunday, since it was my monthly hosted board game night with Twilight Imperium. With that said, this last week ended with the big Beasts of War announcement that the Necron second wave is going to be May's big surprise. I am definitely down with that.

Space Marine Transfer Sheets Available for Pre-Order

Space Marine Transfer sheets for the following chapters below are now available for pre-order from Games Workshops. With the large number of salamander players I used to see, its amazing that it took this long for them to get transfer sheets. However I dont think its too late, and having other chapters to choose from is pretty cool as well.

Before I forget, they have also redesigned the transfer sheets, apparently for easier use.

The Most Amazing Talos Conversion Ever

This thing is amazing, which is not hard to swallow when you realize who did the conversion. It was not me, but dont worry I will be posting a link here in a minute.

I wanted to say that when it comes to modelling, some people can convert, and some can paint. It is a rare person in our hobby can not only do both well, but has that artistic eye needed to excel at both of them.

I am not going to share a pic here, instead I want you if you got this far to simply follow the link and check out his site because even though I think this Talos is a masterpiece, its not the only model he has done.

The Decimators Updated Rules

Forgeworld has updated the Chaos Decimators rules to include the updated weapon options that are now available. I was wondering earlier in the week when they released a Heavy Conversion Beamer weapon upgrade for the Decimator. I went back to look at the rules I had for it and did not see the weapon. This is an excellent idea for the gun, with a large devastating gun to fire at range.

My only question with the Decimator is with its Daemonic Possession. Forgeworld listed a BS 3 so daemonic possession should lower the Ballistic skill of the walker down to 2, which would suck, or is possession supposed to included into the profile of the walker. (I have not gone back to check the codex)

Battle Video: Imperial Guard vs Night Lords

I have been working on my video skills including spending several hours talking shop about it with Chris down at Knightfall Games (thank you). While my camera skills are still a little shakey, (I lie, they are a lot shakey), I am moving up with what I feel comfortable with.

I really did not take enough photos or different videos. I will have to learn to focus on getting more and more pictures and videos so there is a better selection. I expect that these will get better and better, so please bear with me.

The Downfall of the Purifier: Part 2

Yesterday I was discussing Purifiers, and why I am moving away from a Crowe oriented Purifier list. I have done extremly well with it, but it has some serious downfalls, that other more advanced players can take advantage of.

K'daai Fireborn Now Up for Pre-Order

This morning we have a release from Warhammer Forge that we saw at Games Day 2012, the K'daai Fireborn. The k'daai Fireborn are available now for preorder, to be released Friday, April 27th.

Terrain: Vehicle Craters

I finally decided to make some vehicle craters for all those exploded vehicles on the table top. I figured 6 was a good number to start with, although I think I will end up making some more.

The big push is that I needed to get something besides some plasti-card for vehicle wrecks. It just looks getto for the videos I am working on. I spent three hours or so with Chris from Knightfall games talking about how to film videos for battle reports etc. So I have learned some better filming and editing techniques that I am chomping at the bit to get moving on.

I will end up adding these to the terrain building tutorial on the site later perhaps this weekend. For now I just wanted to post up on what I have been doing.

The Downfall of the Purifier

Many many games later, I have finally been able to wrap up my conclusions about purifiers. I believe now I have played a Purifier list against about every army type out there and then some. Even though I love the unit, and it just may be my favorite unit in the game, it has some serious drawbacks.

Azrael New Release? Dark Angels Codex or Finecast?

Something showed up today on the Games Workshop site under Azrael, Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels. Here is what it says under his model now.

Not really sure what this means, it could very well be that he is being redone in resin for Finecast, or it could mean something larger. It could really be nothing.
