Finding Necron Rumors in Novels

We just don't every really know, sometimes the authors of 40k novels really do know what is coming out in the next codex, and include some really cool descriptions of what we might be seeing. This could be the case here. With Path of the Seer there is a flashback of a battle against the Necrons and this rumor is about that.

Salvation's Reach

Salvation's Reach is the next book by Dan Abnett and is the 13th book featuring Gaunt's Ghosts. If you are not a fan of Gaunt's Ghosts, well, you probably have not read them.

This book is now available for pre-order, and is due to arrive in October. It is a hardback, listed at $24.99, and you can pre-order it here

http://www.blacklibrary.com/Warhammer-40000/Gaunts-Ghosts/salvations-reach.html

The Necron Pyramid Comes to Life

It is the most iconic model in the entire line, perhaps in the entire game. The Monolith is just one of those amazing models that I recall when it first was released. It was an amazing model, and everyone and their brother just had to have one. Of course this was a long time ago, way back at a great little gameshop that I first started playing at, the Game Vault.

Now we have some updates on exactly what this iconic vehicle might be looking like with the new Necron codex right around the corner.

Pics of the Week

Well the time has finally come. I am out of pics. There are no more.

I am just joking of course.

In this amazing hobby we are part of, there is always more pics of artwork to be found. This week though, I am digging deep to pull up some artwork for this weeks installment of Pics of the Week.

Pics of the Week happen every Tuesday where I share from my Warhammer pic library. I collect these all the time from all over, and sharing them is just fun.

Fixing the Storm Raven

Long gone are the arguements and internet discussions of just how much people hate the look of the Storm Raven. You still here it at the game table when they are deployed, but for the most part the discussions of its stunted appearance are gone. Perhaps people are just getting used to it.

The Eye Stares Back- Aurelian is Almost Here

Aurelian is due to be released in September, so it is getting very close. Not to mention that the artwork for its cover is absolutely amazing. Check out the cover art by Neil Roberts.

Aurelian is a limited edition Horus Heresy novella by Aaron Dembski-Bowden from the Black Library. The book becomes available Sept 12th at 6pm (BST) and is strictly limited to 3000 copies. The cost is $50.

Faeit 212 BlogExchange: Two New Blog Spotlights

When there are blogs just added to the exchange, I showcase them off on Mondays to start the week. Well, this week there are two new blogs to showcase. Every Monday I post up the BlogExchange, because it is a great way to see new blogs, get your blog noticed, or just find some good reading about the hobby we all love.

So what is it? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are intersted in.

New Nurgle Champion and Saurus Old Blood (pic)

Here is a pic of both the Nurgle Champion and the Saurus Old Blood that are due to be released September 10th. Both models are quit nice in my opinion, and when the future of the warp brings about a Legions of Chaos codex, the Nurgle Champion may come in handy.

Specialist Game Suprise

Well, for those that do not know, the cat is out of the bag on this release. The pic above is from September's White Dwarf and below is some information on what the game really is. To sum it up, it is a warmaster scaled naval combat game. The release is all included, like the release of Space Hulk was.

Sisters of Battle 2nd White Dwarf Codex Information Part 2

I promised the Fast Attack and Heavy Support choices, so without too much of an introduction, here it is.

Sisters of Battle 2nd White Dwarf Codex Information

I figured this morning I would post up on some of what is in the second part of the Sisters of Battle White Dwarf codex. I ended up using the same picture of as yesterday because I like it so much.

Following is information regarding the HQ's, Elites, and Troop choices. I will do the fast attack and heavy later today.

Sisters of Battle at First Glance: Battle Sisters (Updated)

This codex is pretty simple, but what do you expect when it comes out of a White Dwarf. I dont think that everyone crying foul is the way to go. This is a codex to simply hold over until a full codex comes out. So lets take a look at the codex.

Sisters of Battle 1st White Dwarf Codex Information

This is a summary of the first codex release. I now have the codex in hand, and for the most part I can tell you what it will look like. It is a very easy codex, and yes, I think it can be competitive.

Ogre Kingdoms, Official Announcement Release. More Pics and Link

Ogre Kingdoms, due to arrive September 3rd is now official. Gather Your Tribe, Ogre Kingdoms are now available for advance orders.

New Ssyth and Lhaemon Pics from the Sept. White Dwarf

Just back from the woods and look what was left in my inbox. Wow, Nice new pics from Septembers's White Dwarf of both the Dark Eldar Ssyth and the Lhamaean. Once again this proves who has the nicest looking model range in the 40k.

A New Dark Eldar Slave Ship in the Works

There is another Dark Eldar super heavy in the works by those wonderous people at Forgeworld. I would like to see come true.

The pic above is already released from Forgeworld for the Dark Eldar, the Tantalus. Its beautiful, and I cannot wait to see what a new Dark Eldar Slave ship might look like. Check out the new rumors below.

A Heresy Supplement from Forgeworld

For years the warhammer 40k community has dreamed of a Horus Heresy supplement. The novels from the Black Library have inspired many of us, and the creation of armies for the table has been something almost every serious 40k player has thought of.

Todays rumor brings us the thought that Forgeworld might just be thinking of doing something with the Horus Heresy. Forgeworld has denied this for a very long time, so it seems unlikely, but hey, we can dream.

Pics of the Week: A Second Installment

I often find new artist while searching around, and this week is no exception. Daarken is an amazing artist, and while I wish he would delve into the 40k world a little more, his art for Warhammer Fantasy is amazing.  The opening image above is amazaing, and just shows us how creative this young artist really is.

This week, I am adding in another installment of Pics of the Week. Pics of the Week is a weekly post I do every Tuesday.

Space Marine Walkthrough

Here is a walkthrough for those that have not downloaded and played the demo yet (like me). It was put together by the Cynical Brit, and is worth watching. I have not yet been able to play the demo. When I return I should get the chance.

Lost

I have a couple things that are schedule to post, but for the time being I am will be missing in action. Technically I am out fishing for a couple of days in the mountains. I will be back on Friday. The pic really is where I am at, and I would be suprised if anyone knew where it was.

Ogre Kingdom Releases. Pre-Orders Start Saturday. (New Pics!)

Ogre Kingdoms is just around the corner, and today we are treated with a list of what is being released. Preorders start Saturday, and check out some of these pics. The one above, just is asking to me to start this army.

New Sisters of Battle White Dwarf Information (Updated with Pt Costs)

This evening we are recieving the first words on what is coming out of the September White Dwarf Codex, Sisters of Battle. Apparently the original post was in French, and this is the translation.

Pics of the Week: Lord Inquisitor

This week, I thought I would share some of the images from the CGI fan-based movie Lord Inquisitor. They really do have some amazing artwork done for this film. Just check out Coteaz above for example.

Pics of the Week happen every Tuesday where I share from my Warhammer pic library. I collect these all the time from all over, and sharing them is just fun.

Space Marine Demo Is Live. Free Download

For all you people that are dying, just waiting to try the demo, it is up now. You can get it here http://www.spacemarine.com/gb/demo/get-code. Feait 212 BlogExchange

When there are blogs just added to the exchange, I showcase them off on Mondays to start the week. Well, this week there is nothing new. So I would like to keep bringing up the BlogExchange, because it is a great way to see new blogs, get your blog noticed, or just find some good reading about the hobby we all love.

So what is it? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are intersted in.

A Leaked Necron Image of the Summary Page. Probably Not Real.

This was pointed out to me yesterday, so I grabbed it and figured I would share the image. Because the language of where it came from is not one that I know, it was very hard to find any additional information. Are there more of these hanging out?

Do not take this as real, there are just too many problems with it. I posted it because its fun to see these.

Presence of Faeit: Frustrations with Paint, Court of the Archon, Dark Eldar Tactical

This week we saw the release of the Daemon Battleforce/ Battalion alongside a couple of Dark Eldar models. Forgeworld gave us a huge new missle tank and we saw some brief FAQ updates. Into my own projects, normally after any tournament, I take a breather. Well that is done now, so I am back at it again, working on my armies. Frustrations with paint hit hard.

Presence of Faeit is a weekly editorial by myself. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Lord Inquisitor: 40k CGI Animated Movie

Lord Inqusitor is a fan based film based around Coteaz and the Grey Knights. It is completely being done without any motivation of profit and has some magnificent eye candy. While the film is being done by Erasms Brosdau, this is a fan based project, so fans from around the world are helping to complete this project. So I am sure the credit list is huge.

More Pics from the Ogre Kingdom's Codex Revealed

I have had these for a couple days now, but figured today would be a good time to post up on them. You may have already noticed that I have posted one of them on the Ogre Kingdom compilation from yesterday. So here are the rest of the pics that you may not have yet seen.

Saturday Morning's: Necron Rumor Compilation

It's been awhile since we have really seen anything new for Necrons. I had forgotten quite a bit of what we already have heard from the rumor mill, so this morning I figured it was time to post up on a Necron rumor compilation. So far I am excited to see this codex, as it will add quite a bit to the 40k game.

Compilations like this are always fun to read on a relaxing Saturday morning. Grab your coffee, and sit back and enjoy.

Need a Missle Launcher as Big as a Chimera? Sure you do.

New from Forgeworld today is the Praetor Armoured Assault Launcher and the Kheres Assault Cannon, Plasma Cannon, and Heavy Bolter arm designed to go onto the Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought.

Any of these arms are nice pieces, and make me wonder if they would fit onto a more standard dreadnought for some conversion work. The Praetor Armoured Assault Launcher is just huge. It looks like just the launcher itself is nearly as large as a chimera.

Words of Faeit- How an Army Works

There is an art to working up a strong army list. It is not just sitting down and plugging away at Army Builder, or spamming out a unit that works. It is getting on the table, practicing with several lists and combinations, re-working and refining how each unit will work together in a list alongside your play style and of course, favorite unit types.

The Words of Faeit is a weekly post, dedicated to my thoughts on the strategy and tactical side of the game. They are not to be written in stone as "No plan of operations extends with certainty beyond the first encounter with the enemy's main strength" (or "no plan survives contact with the enemy"). Quoted from Helmuth von Moltke.

Ogre Kingdoms Rumor Compilation

Right around the corner Ogre Kingdoms will be hitting the shelves. Its been amazing at how well Games Workshop has been holding onto the latest codex's to control the volume of rumors floating around. So today I am going to start off with a collection of rumors to help give a heads up at what we are expecting out of the new codex.

Warning, This post is long, especially when it gets down to the question and answers.

The Eye of Vengence Artwork

The Black Library gave us yet another fine piece of art, from the upcoming Graham McNeil audio book, The Eye of Vengence. The cover art is of Sergeant Telion, done by Hardy Fowler, and will not be released until May 2012.

From the Black Library
When the twisted Dark Mechanicus priests of the Bloodborn descend upon Quintarn, the Ultramarines are quick to move in defence of their prized agri-world. However, it soon becomes apparent that the planet’s fate will not be decided by the massed battle companies of the Space Marines, but by the actions of just one lowly sergeant – Torias Telion. A master marksman and Scout with a long history of service to the Chapter, Telion must now face the worst of the Bloodborn’s technological terrors and secure the city of Idrisia fom the enemy advance, if the Ultramarines are to have any hope of prevailing against an enemy whose numbers swell with every victory.

The Latest Bugs in Necron Rumors: Scarabs

Scarabs are sounding pretty nasty when it comes to using them against armour. In fact, the rumors of reducing our tanks armour value when they hit you, is an old one. Today it gets yet more verification, and some actual point cost?

Rules Problems with Grey Knights

Oblivous to what some people tend to think of me locally, I am generally pretty relaxed when it comes to people playing their armies. It does bug me though when later upon looking it up, that I find out that a person really does not know the rule they were quoting for the army they are playing. Sometimes it matters in the game, and most of the time it does not.

Enough rant. Here are a couple rules verifications you should know when facing or playing Grey Knights.

Warforge Releases Two New Skaven Horrors

These are creatures that we have seen at the latest Games Days, and yet they are still models that attract that much attention. Both the Exalted Vermin Lord and the Brood Horror are ready for pre-order and will be shipped in the week of August 30th.

Faeit 212 BlogExchange: New Additions

There are so many blogs out there that I have not yet reached or had the time to read. While there are many ways to get your blog noticed, Blog Groups seem to be the best and most direct way for people to find you. Back when I was starting, it took me about 6 months to get my butt into the first one, the FTW Bloggers Group. That made a huge difference, and now I have created my own hybrid group.

So what is it? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are interested in.

Faeit 212 Passes the Million Threshold

Apparently several days back though, the blog went over a million page views. I for one am very excited about it, as it means that there are quite a few people in the warhammer community that come and check in on the site.

I word about the community. It is really amazing that there are so many people across that world that play these games, or simply love to work on the models. I get hits from many surprising countries, and some that I have had to look up in the past, because I love learning about new places. When I had started the blog, never did I think Warhammer 40k was so wide spread.

So Thanks for Checking in. Also I am behind on the Blog Exchange, so those that threw in their hats, I will be adding these tomorrow.

Pics of the Week

Back on schedule, there are some pics that I skipped out on last week. These are them.

Pics of the Week happen every Tuesday (this week I slipped) where I share from my Warhammer pic library. I collect these all the time from all over, and sharing them is just fun.

Games Workshop Increases Finecast Limits

It appears that Games Workshop has increased the limit of finecast models that you can order from them. I knew they were trying to limit it to 3 per customer, but now that limit has been moved up to 5. It seems a positive step.

While I have not had the chance to verify this, it is apparent that Games Workshop is working hard on their Finecast models. Even though I have only had the chance to work on Grotesques, I have seen other peoples models, and some have been pretty bad.

Overall I see the move to increase limits as a positive one, perhaps they have the process down a little better.

I have also heard through the rumor vines, that most of the bad models out there people are still recieving are from the original runs, and that the latest models are much much better. If anyone has comments on Citadel Finecast models they have bought in the last month, I would like hear the comments on any improvements.

The Latest FAQ Updates. Dark Eldar and Blood Angels

Games Workshop released its latest FAQ's for both Blood Angels and Dark Eldar. Both are really small updates, and both were not really needed. Both of these are rather Duh, were people still really needing these questions answered? The answer is apparently. Lets look at the updates.

Presence of Faeit- Ard Boyz, Epic Moments

Most of my week was planning my list and getting prepared for the tournament, as well as my failure at finding a sitter for that early in the morning on a Saturday. While I played at my second choice spot this year, I enjoyed the tournament, even though my playing was dominated by two simple mistakes made in the first round of my last two games.

Presence of Faeit is a weekly editorial by myself. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Vassal 5.4E Now with Grey Knights and Dark Eldar. Link Provided

Could you really ask for any more? Now you can download vassal for 40k that includes the latest two codexes, Grey Knights and Dark Eldar. What is Vassal? For some it is a way to play 40k games online, for others it is a way to test armies out, while for most bloggers, it allows a means to visually demonstrate a tactical situation.

The new version is out today. My experience with it, shows quite the learning curve with the program, but check it out.
Here is the link. Vassal 40k 5.4E

Ard Boyz Saturday

Today is Ard Boyz, and I am releived after a ton of problems regarding getting a 1 and a 4 year old to a sitter, and still be able to make a tournament start time. I was not able to make my preferred store location today, as I would need to drive too far to reach the kids grandma and back all before a 9:30 check in time. It would of been an hour and a half extra driving. I found another location that doesnt start til noon, so that is where I am at now.

Army wise, I am not playing my first choice list. So Grey Knights will have to wait for me. Even my Dark Eldar are not ready, so that leaves me with my Imperial Guard Hybrid list I have been working on. I just cannot field an army today that is not squad designated, and completely done. Amazingly enough, it is a lot of infantry, and quite a few less tanks than I am used to. We will see how it does.

Thats it for my Saturday morning though, I've got some faq to print out. Cya tommorrow.

Cower Mortal, I Have Come For You

Another excellent piece of cover art from the Black Library, done by Hardy Fowler for the upcoming book, Treacheries of the Space Marines. Over on facebook, they have a challenge to name this follower of Tzeentch, so if you have time this weekend, head on over and place your vote.

Imperial Armour 11 Page Preview

Games Workshop yesterday gave us a sneak peak into the upcoming Forgeworld release of Imperial Armour 11 "The Doom of Mymeara". Also an extra pic of the new contemptor dreadnaught all painted up. The contemptor dreadnaught is one of those pieces that can really pull the feel of a space marine army off. Assuming I did not allready have two Forgeworld Grey Knight dreads, these would be my first choice to add.

Pics of the Week

This has been one of those odd weeks. I missed my Pics of the Week on Tuesday, because there was quite a bit of news and rumors out there, and I simply forgot. Not to mention that with Ard Boyz right hitting tomorrow, I am not on my normal bloging game. So while I am out hitting the fields today, here are some pics to hold you over.

Pics of the Week happen every Tuesday (this week I slipped) where I share from my Warhammer pic library. I collect these all the time from all over, and sharing them is just fun.

Space Marine Blockbuster Entertainment Trailer +1

Another Trailer for the upcoming game Space Marine. This one is pretty cool. It makes me want to play first person shooters. Also included below is the multiplayer trailer.

Deadwinter Artwork: The Black Library

Jon Sullivan has produced another breathtaking cover, encapsulating the Empire in a desperate struggle against plague and invasion

The new book Deadwinter is due March of 2012, by C.L. Weiner. The cover art is very nice, but that is what we are coming to expect out of anything the Black Library produces nowadays.

Also of note, the Black Library on facebook is having a poll to decide which limited edition artwork will be on sale at Games Day UK. Either the artwork for "Battle of the Fang" or "Path of the Seer"

Ogre Kingdoms: A couple of Leaked Pics

There are rumors flying around that things are being dropped all over from a leaked version of the Ogre Kingdoms codex. While I have not seen it anywhere, I do have a couple images from it. So here they are.
