No Retreat International 40k Tournament

SN Battle Reports is again hosting a tournament event in Gibraltar for Warhammer 40k. The last one had competitors from several places, including Spain and the UK. There appears to only be 11 slots left in the event.

Releases Confirmed for This Week

Now we have confirmations for this week's pre-orders and their prices. I do like the new mounts for the Knights of Ruin, and I can think of some good things to do with those models. Here is this week's list for pre-orders.

Tyranid Genecult and Deathwatch Game in Q1 2016

Rumors of a Deathwatch game coming are taking more shape now with additional rumors of a stand alone box game that pits the Deathwatch up against a Genecult. The rumors today came from anonymous sources on Bols, but when coupled with past bits, and an additional snippet of information left on Faeit 212, it seems like this could be on the horizon.

Thousand Sons Spotted Today From Forgeworld

From Forgeworld's Bulletin today comes Thousand Son upgrades packs that are coming soon. Space Wolves are also mentioned, but will have to wait. The above image is from Forgeworld.

Age of Sigmar New Battletomes Coming.....

A couple factions look like they will be getting new Battletomes in the near future. Chaos getting a Battletome: Everchosen, and the Dwarves getting the Steamhead Duardin and the Fyreslayers.

Hidden Dropzone Commander Releases Today!!!

Released under the radar today are the Resistance Sappers and Scout ATV's. Although we dont have the rules out for them today, they are supposed to be hitting the stores. I accidentally found this today when figuring out what I was going to field later tonight.

It's quite possible that the Dropfleet Kickstarter has swamped the news of this release.

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade Alpha Gameplay Video

A new video from Eternal Crusade was released from the Alpha testing. More than likely if there is a lot of death in it, I am likely one of the casualties. I will have to say though that the last few times I have played (like last night), I actually managed a few kills myself!

Funded: Boneshop's Epic 6mm Titan Wall & Modular City System

It's been a couple days now, but only halfway through it's kickstarter, Boneshop's Titan Wall and Modular City System has been funded. There is also a new video showing how buildings are put together.

Space Wolves in February

Rumors are abound, and Space Wolves in the mix. That would be a nice change of pace, after all who doesn't like the Wolves of Fenris? Looking forward to this one, and the formations it will bring.

Archaon Everchosen Pre-Orders are Live

Already the new Archaon Everchosen is available for pre-orders in some places in the world. Its a massive model, and quite on the expensive side of things. (remember Smaug came out this time last year?).

New Space Marine Vehicle in Development

I still like the look of the old school rhinos, and the Forgeworld appears to be creating a command variant for the old MkIc Deimos Pattern Rhino. There is also a very nice looking Siege Dreadnought that was painted up for the Forgeworld Bulletin yesterday morning.

Archaon's Rules Translated

Archaon's rules translation from German. 

Sent in from a reader,

I havent seen one, so here you have it:

- He can Fly
- Eye of Sheerian: Throw a dice in your Herophase and note the result. everytime your enemy makes a hit roll against Archaon and it matches the noted result, your enemy has to re-roll.
- Slayer of Kings: If all attack done with SoK are done against a single HERO or MONSTER and 2 or more wound rolls are 6+, the target is killed instantly
- Armor of Morkar: if Archaons save roll results in a 6 (before modification), the attacking units suffers a mortal wound
- Chaos Runeshield: 5++ for Mortal wounds.
- Crown of Might: If a Unit within 10" or Archaon has to do a Bettleshock test, you can modify the result by +2 or -2.
- Threeheaded Monstrosity: If Dorghars Three Head's attack result slay at least one model you can choose on of the following after resolving the attacks:
       - Spew Rot: D3 mortal wounds on a unit within 7"
       - Skull Gulp: If a HERO was killed, heal D3 wounds.
       - Magic Eater: If a WIZARD was slain, Archaon learns all of the models spells.
- Everchosen: Throw a dice if Archaon get affected by an enemy spell, on 4+ the spell has no effect on him
- Wizard: He can Cast/Unbind 2 Spells each round, he knows Magic Bolt and Arcane Shield

Command Ability:
- Unmatched Warlord: If Archaon uses this ability all other CHAOS units in your army can use their Command Ability.

Cadian and Farsight Formations Leaked from Mont'ka

The new campaign book Mont'ka has new formations two factions in particular, Cadians and Farsight. Both are getting new Warlord Traits, special rules, items, and tactical objectives. Thats quite a bit, especially for Astra Militarum players like myself with loads of Cadians.

Close Combat Changes Coming to Eternal Crusade

Eternal Crusade's live twitch broadcast was yesterday and in it are some changes coming to the close combat. Definitely worth checking out. Its one of the many ways I die in the beta testing... but Im getting a little better at the game.

This week is interesting as there are lots of bundles, War Zone Damocles, Assassins, Heroes, and datacards for both Cadians and Farsight Enclaves. A big change from the single model releases that we have been seeing for weeks at a time.

About a week ago I received a new Dropzone Commander FAT Mat from Frontline Gaming. The FAT Mats I already have are very nice, and are the only mats I have been using over the last year. Everything else has just fallen by the wayside and doesnt get used here when games are hosted.
