Presence of Feait: Dark Angels, Dark Eldar, and Dark Age

Its 2013 in a few short hours, and I am looking forward to a full new year of 40k. While 2012 was a good year, with the introduction of 6th edition, and a new Chaos Marine codex, next years releases look to be much more promising.

Presence of Faeit is my weekly editorial, and yes I am a day late. I was up getting in games the last few nights, and am trying hard to settle down on a strong new list or two.

Horus Heresy 'Betrayal" Rumors

According to this set, there is a lot in the works for the Horus Heresy coming in the next month. So for fans of the Horus Heresy line from Forgeworld, its time to get out your wallet for 2013.

Hard Drive Failure

A little problem this morning, as I lost my hard drive to my desktop. Slowing recovering (backing up) and I am on my laptop with the tiny tiny tiny keyboard. Did I mention tiny?. Anyhow, I have posts to get caught up on, as it seems a ton of pictures are now available. So we will get to that here shortly.

Not to mention, I have a game scheduled tonight, so lots of stuff coming. Be back soon.

Dark Angels Information: Deathwing, Landspeeders, etc

Here is a nice little write up with the help of a magnifying glass over on Warseer. This includes a lot of the special rules, and point comparisons, so is definitely worthy checking out and reading through.

New Greater Deamons and Deamon Pt Changes

It looks like some serious point changes are coming to Daemons in the next couple months. This is a little expected and could even include daemons from the last White Dwarf update. We will see.

Daemons are already a strong codex, and hopefully this coming February's update gives us a nice update to keep them competitive.

Marines Triumphant

Found this little gem hiding amongst the short stories over at the Black Library's blog. Very cool to see the Marines triumphant and the massed waves of ships overhead.

Dreadnoughts and Veteran Options for Dark Angels

Veterans and Dreadnoughts. The information from both of these, comes out of the latest White Dwarf.

The question about drop pods has been finally answered, and that is a yes, as apparently they are listed under the veteran list of what is available for transports. I would assume as well that Dark Angel Tacticals will get them as well.

A Litte Dark Angels Information: Terminators and DW Knights

Here is a little bit of information regarding Dark Angel terminators and knights. Its only a little bit and apparently was taken from the White Dwarf which is apparently also released in other countries like Finland.

New Trailer to Check Out

This is from the latest Black Library newsletter, and is a little sneak peak into next year. Not only that, but as a huge fan of 40k art, this poster was handed out for free as a little Christmas gift.

Merry Christmas From Faeit 212

First off, It's that time of the year, and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope that everyone has time to spend with family, eats a little more than they should, and of course, gets that one special model or 40k supplement that they have been needing.

Black Templar in the Works

The Black Templar have been rumored to being written a couple of times, and have even had unit specific rumors attached to them quite a long time ago. Most of that is forgotten now, and attributed to false rumors.

According to the latest lineups for the next year, they are not even supposed to be released in 2013. However, even a hint that they might be moving forward, is good news for those that follow the Black Templar.

Presence of Faeit: Daemons and Dark Angels

This week we had breaking information on the Dark Angels with the release of the January White Dwarf in Denmark. From pictures to unit information, it was a good week for Dark Angels and 40k in general.

The Games at the End of the World
Well the world did not end at the conclusion of the Mayan Calendar... big surprise there. However I did get a huge game in vs a Chaos Daemons player in my new game room. It was quite the game sitting at 3000pts of Daemons, almost exclusively Screamers and Flamers.

Previous Daemon players even in 6th that I have seen and faced had not played these units like this, so it was quite the shocker how powerful indeed they are for the point cost. While I put up a good fight, I did lose this game, and I will be doing a battle report on it later this week.

Flamers, disgusting powerful now with 2 wounds. Squads of them wreck tanks in numbers, and annihilate troops in numbers, no matter what they are. At 23 pts a model they are a steal.

Screamers. hmmmm, ap2 attacks that are S5 with armourbane, 2 wounds and 3 attacks base? Also extremely powerful.

Apparently I was the first person he has not tabled with this list at any point level. It was a hard game, and I am looking forward to the rematch.  I will post up more details soon.

Dark Angels
Now that its the end of the year, I am looking hard at what armies I am going to be playing, and have started doing some modelling work. One thing I am looking forward to.... the release of the Dark Angels codex. While I have no real intention of playing them full out as my primary detachments, I do see them as a good ally potential, however we will know more as the codex is released.

As far as low model count armies, I have one of those, so I am looking for something that my other armies cannot provide me on the tabletop. So I suppose it all depends on what the Dark Angels can bring to the table.

I am really surprised though that we are seeing a greater link between books from the Black Library and codex releases, perhaps this will keep up and will be something that we should be keeping a closer eye on.

Razorbacks
I have a bunch of rhinos, and many half kits of rhinos and razorbacks that I bought at a good price. However it meant some serious modelling work to get the models ready for the tabletop. I was able to make the turrets and guns this week, and even a base for them to sit in. Yes, I just have that many heavy weapons sitting around.

I am working on getting my Grey Knight Coteaz army ready to play with. I am going to imagine that January I should be able to wrap up this army for playing up to 2500pts.

Wow, I Missed This One: Sons of Horus Justaerin Terminators

This one is completely my fault, as the information got lost in my email. I received these pics on the 18th, and then Forgeworld put out their release on just yesterday on the 21st. So my apologies for not getting to these cool terminators before hand, to mention that they were about to come out.

Forgeworld on Friday gave us a nice treat, with a ton of cool stuff, from the Justaerin Terminators to the Voss Pattern Lightning. Lots of nice models are just before Christmas. Take a look.

Deathwing Knights: Just Wow

There has been a lot of talk about the upcoming Deathwing Knights. While we really do not yet have the rules sitting in front of us yet, we do have some information gained from the White Dwarf battle report. These Knights look nasty.

Dawn of War in Trouble as THQ Files for Bankruptcy

It seems that one of our beloved related games of Warhammer 40k could be in some trouble for future releases. THQ has filed for a chapter 11 bankruptcy. Luckily on our side THQ has already secured an investor, but we do not yet know what that means for the future.

More Details on Dark Angel Units

The Dark Angels are just right around the corner now, and with the new White Dwarf being released already in some countries (notably Denmark.... lucky souls), we are now able to gleam a little bit more information on just what we are going to be seeing.

Who is Jeremy Vetock?, and Welcome to 40k

Jeremy is the author of the Skaven armybook, as well as the Orcs and Goblin book. He also was apparently part of the team for the Ogre book as well. So Welcome Jeremy Vetock to the bigtime...... to 40k. We cannot wait to read your work with the Dark Angels codex.

Dark Angels Units Details from WD

Apparently the new White Dwarf is not a leak, but is out in Denmark at stores. Amazing really. However, because of that, we have some details given to us via the comment section that help gives us an idea on what these new units are going to be and what they do.

Dark Angels: A Massive Rumor Compilation

I am not going to promise I found everything, but I think I dug up most of it. Tons of Dark Angels rumors updated and put into chronological order so that we can decipher possibly just what it is that is going on.

Voss Pattern Lighting

Something new from Forgeworld that has been around in concept, but this is the first I have seen of it. Check it out, and a big thanks to Fizzybubela over on the Bols Lounge for posting it up. Definitely looks like Forgeworld is going to squeeze a final release in before years end.

Faeit 212 BlogExchange: Blogs from Around the World

It's time to get some of these blogs on the BlogExchange, since I have been behind since my move. This is the first post on it, since I am behind by more than enough blogs than I can get into one post.

I will be back on schedule for Monday's for the BlogExchange.

So what is the Blog Exchange? It is basically an exchange of blogs on each others blog rolls. Its that simple. The search engine beneath the blog roll is also set so that readers may do a search on all the blogs on the exchange for whatever it is that they are interested in. So if your blog is being added, Mondays is when I spotlight each new blog to the exchange. The purpose of the Faeit 212 BlogExchange is to generate traffic and ideas to the wider community of Warhammer related blogs around the world.

Pics of the Week

This week I did not want to miss the pics of the week, so here they are. some truly epic pics, and no real theme.

Pics of the Week happen every Tuesday where I share from my Warhammer pic library. I collect these all the time from all over, and sharing them is just fun.

The Return of TSR

It seems that some in the Gygax family has grabbed the tradmark for TSR and started a magazine called Gygax Magazine, who's first edition was supposed to be released this month. (havent seen it). If it does come out, even though rpgs are a thing of my past, I would still pick up the magazine.

Many of us still remember those very old days of Greyhawk, and the early days of gaming. I recall them with a lot of good memories, and still have some of those old books. (I am in the process though of getting rid of them). Still though when something with a trademark TSR comes up by the Gygax family, it catches my attention.

Deathshroud Terminators Wrap Up the Puzzle

Some very sexy models are revealed as the Christmas Jigsaw puzzle from Forgeworld is completed. These Deathshroud Terminators are a very nice, and are due to be released early in 2013. Here it is from Forgeworld.

Apocalypse Coming Soon?

If you recall from this weekend, we were discussing briefly that there are rumors of Apocalypse being redone and being brought up to speed for 6th edition. While the rumor was brief, it seems that the Apocalypse formations have been pulled from the Games Workshop website according to Loken over at Apocalypse 40k.

Presence of Faeit: Getting Down to Business

This week was a bit of miscellaneous rumors that touched on new flyers, release schedules, and even a small Imperial Guard rumor bit. Things are starting to settle down here after the move, and its nice to finally get moved in and to be able to stop living out of boxes.

Presence of Faeit is my weekly editorial. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Messing with Release Dates

It seems that there are often unsuspecting events, errors, or events that can throw off release dates. The past 3-4 months have been a prime example of rumors coming in, and release dates moving around. It reminds me of the bumper sticker "Shit happens".

Apocalypse Supplement in the Works

There are rumors of a 40k supplement coming next summer, and I have heard several different vague hints on what it might be. This evenings rumor bit is a brief, but says that an Apocalypse expansion is being worked on, to update it and bring it into line with 6th edition.

White Dwarf: The Importance of January 5th

Just a reminder for people, or a heads up. Hurricane Sandy had effects on shipping, not to mention the craziness of the Holiday shipping mess. Regardless of the excuses or reasons, this leads to us getting January's White Dwarf on January 5th instead of the normal last weekend of this month.

Just be prepared that everything, including leaks on the upcoming releases, will be slightly behind.

Flyer Waves Coming: Dark Eldar, Eldar, Tau, and Tyranid

Just to be clear, this came out when I was in the middle of my move, so it was missed on my end. I wanted to make sure that people did not miss it, because it has some very interesting rumor bits, including the Ork Wave, a certain Dark Eldar flyer I have been wanting, and mention of tyranids (please I want to see them on the tabletop again).

Forgeworld's Christmas Puzzle Comparison

These two look very similar. This comparison was sent into the Faeit 212 inbox, and shows the new Forgeworld Christmas jigsaw image compared to a Tartaros Terminator model side by side. Check it out.

Sent in by Anurien (thank you)

2013 Schedule Revealed

2013 is hopefully becoming less of a mystery as we approach the end of 2012. According to this schedule, which conforms to what we have been hearing from Hastings and other rumor mongers, Dark Angels are up next, followed by Daemons, Tau, and Eldar later in the year.

Imperial Guard Rumors and Pic Source

Earlier today we had a rumor that a pic was out and about showing some Jes Goodwin sketches, and that he was now working on the Imperial Guard. Well the source of the pics was found, and not only that, more information regarding Jes working on the Imperial Guard was sent in. Enjoy.

Jes Goodwin Working on the Imperial Guard

This comes to us a little unexpected....... a rumor for the Imperial Guard. Now I am going to assume this is a long ways out, or its for a White Dwarf insert or other 40k expansion. However there are few codices like the Imperial Guard right now in 6th edition. (it does not need a new codex).

Updated Image on the Christmas Jigsaw

Forgeworld's Christmas jigsaw is out in full force and running, and I am playing catch up a little, since I did not post up when it first came out this year. Well we have a second updated image now, so the model is coming together so we can have a much better idea on what it is going to be.

Dark Angels Getting Ready to Launch

Not so sure that your Dark Angels are going to launch soon. Here is a placeholder on the site ready to go for Games Workshop. I am not sure how long its been there, but I don't recall seeing it before.

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landingArmy.jsp?catId=cat440171a&rootCatGameStyle

Please remember that this is not written in stone, but simply another piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

A Hidden Gem: Secret Forgeworld Mini Found

The one thing about this hobby is that there are always people scouring every inch of every pic or display looking for something hidden. Most often they are wrong and it is nothing, however, there are just enough good finds to keep us all hunting and waiting for the next hidden gem. Check this Forgeworld mini out.

Quad Engine Land Speeders and The New Flyer

We have heard lots of rumors for the upcoming Dark Angel codex, and thankfully the time is closing in as we approach the halfway mark in December. Not too much longer now......... A visual on a new flyer and a quad engine land speeder are in this bit.

Space Hulk Goes Digital

Seeing the 40k genre get out to a larger audience is a good thing, especially when it is in the form a video game that can reach potential gamers that do not know what 40k is. So when I see something like this, it looks like a great idea to me. Will I end up with it?, Hard to say at this moment. Its quite possible though.

Dark Angel "Unique" Units

The latest novel Ravenwing from the Black Library has been a hot topic off and on, since we are very close to seeing a new codex. What we are looking for is a listing of new units that may be in the new Dark Angel codex, especially anything new, that will separate the Dark Angels from what a standard Space Marine chapter will look like.

Presence of Faeit: Missing in Action

This last week you may have noticed that there were very few posts, and when there, was I was very brief. Well, that is about to change, and I will be back to work on Faeit 212 again.

Presence of Faeit is my weekly editorial. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Sternguard and Veteran Finecast Models

Apparently there has been a lack of Sternguard and Veteran box finecast box sets in GW stores of late, due to a problem with the quality of the molds. I do not have confirmation on this, but it was worth mentioning in case readers are waiting for or looking for these models.

New Warhammer Game!

The makers of Total War, Creative Assembly now has the rights to a new game. I love the Total War series, and often sit down to do battle on the computer with several of the Total War games. Seeing a company like Creative Assembly taking over to take on the Warhammer World is exciting, and I only wish that they would move to the 40k side of things. Of course...... if one is successful, who knows.

Games Workshop's New Location: Crime and Prostitutes

Games Workshop is finally opening up a store in the Portland area. Exciting news?..... Well it kinda depends. The location they have chose is over at Eastport Plaza off of 82nd Ave. Why they chose an area like that is beyond me, unless it was because someone who had never been in Portland decided that the cheapest rent was a good idea. After all there are not too many places they could of chosen that would allow you to buy your models and pick up a prostitute all within a couple blocks.

February Hobbit Releases Revealed

It looks like someone messed up over at Games Workshop, and February releases  were leaked on their website. No pics, sorry, however here is a screenshot of the page that was put up.

Squats: The Nail in the Coffin

Squats are Dead.

Thanks for the Comments

There has been an issue lately on the site with spammers getting through blogspots defenses. We all have seen them, and they are very annoying.

Ork Wave with New Box Sets

Once again we are hearing more and more on an Ork 2013 model wave. Around April is what a lot of the rumors are saying, and this is yet another to add to the equation.

Dark Age Rumors

Something new today as I received some rumors for the tabletop game Dark Age. While I have not played the game and know only a little of it, I figured they were worth passing on for those of you interested in the game.

Presence of Faeit: Moving and Rumors

Last week there were quite a few rumors, and it was a busy week for myself. While 40k is on the top of my thoughts, its going to be another week or so before I can finally get a game in.

Presence of Faeit is my weekly editorial. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.
