Just wanted to chime in here. Again I've heard more talk of Berzerkers riding Juggernauts, and the new models will be interchangeable with Fantasy! So Chaos players that follow Khorne can either have Brazen Knights in 40K or Fantasy.
OH, and this project (Legions) was slow going start shortly after the release of the current Codex...but when it came to my ears a few years back, it was Phil working on it.
I wonder if they will be Elite (like the Bloodcrushers) or Fast Attack?

how would they make the box interchangeable? As someone who currently is converting Fantasy warriors to CSM, The backpacks and guns are the key differences. Would that leave fantasy players with a bunch of gun arms and backpacks? or 40k players having to finagle backpacks onto armor not made for it?
ReplyDeleteIf they are interchangeable, then I imagine that it would be two different mounts on a plastic sprue, such that there would be a full chaos warrior mount, or a full CSM mount, with no having to mix and match pieces. thus you would have no trouble fitting the backpacks to the marine torso, or worrying about future looking bits on a warrior.
DeleteOr you have the juggernaut sprue with two different plastic sprues, thus making two different sets, one for fantasy, the other for 40k - oh, wait a minute, then each box set would be cheaper than if you put them both together...

DeleteHelmets suitably Khornate, like the picture above, so could be used for either.
Arms, without hands, could be made to fit either torso.
Hands would naturally be different, unless 40K Brazen Knights carry power or daemon weapons.
Still probably need shields and pistols seperate, unless the mighty warriors don't bother with either.
Backs of torsos could be built to be caped, with a place to add either a backpack (40K) or a sack of skulls, additional weapons or whatever (WHFB).
That leaves two different legs and two different torso fronts.
That gentlemen, and any ladies reading, is how I'd do it. Alas, poor gamers, I do not work for GW.
P.S. I'd arm Brazen Knights with power/daemon axes (40K) so there would be no need for two CC weapon sets.
